I loved Natalie's "Messy Bun" hair do that she created on Sunday. It has a cute, little french braid for the bangs, and a big messy bun on the side. She has such long hair right now, and tries out lots of hair styles for the summer. So cute!

In June, our girls will head out on a Pioneer Trek with other youth in our church congretation. They have worked on getting to the gym and running/walking in preparation for 3 days of walking on dirt roads in the nearby mountains. They will be grouped in "families" with adult leaders, but they will have to work with the other youth to pull/push a pioneer hand cart. All of this while dressed in full pioneer garb and sleeping under the stars each night. We are all nervous and excited about this adventure. In hopes to prep them for this experience, we went on a hike this Memorial Day morning to Table Rock in Boise. I had never been, but we have always wanted to go.
It's a short 3 mile round trip hike. There was quite a bit of incline on the trail we started out on, followed by quite a bit more as we walked on to the top. It was fun, yet hard. We walked up, and for the fun of it, ran back. We slid on mud and got pretty dirty.

Jessica got stuck in the mud right at the beginning.
Laughter and tears were all Brett and I heard as we struggled to get up the mudslide!

No one wanted to pose for a picture at the top, so here is the family leaving to head back down!

Ethan at the edge of Table Rock. What a view! I loved it up there.
