Please don't critique the sloppy video! I was digging for something in my purse, answering Ethan's questions, and with another mom trying to figure out why we didn't win the first game! I hope this shows a glimpse of Jess' pure awesomeness of a serve!
OK, so here's how things played out today at Eagle Middle. (Arch rival...they beat us last year in the district championships!) First game...the score is 23 to 24 (we are leading). We serve, volley back and forth for a little, then my daughter reaches up and SMACKS it down! Eagle doesn't even touch it! Whistle blows, we win, game over, teams leave the court and stand on the back line. Oh, but wait, the official changes his mind and calls Jess' smack a "carry" or a "throw". Before we know what hit us, we're still playing. Eagle ends up winning, 27 - 25. ***Now you understand my out of control camera handling in the video!***
Second game: The video shows the first serve of the second game (I hope!). We end up winning 25 to 19 or 20.
SO...my favorite...3rd game. We go back and forth with the serving and the scoring. The official calls a foot fault on the serve against them, and a carry or two on us. Scoring is tied at 7-7. We start inching away..slowly...slowly...and then we won 15 to 13!!!!!! It was the best to beat them at Eagle!!!
Several of us moms were sweating it out and declaring we are done. We can't handle any more! (And, yikes, we have tournament next Saturday! Today felt like tourney day to me...)
