Coach Kyle giving the girls some instruction before tournament starts. So glad he was our coach!

Jess kept stats and was an awesome assistant coach. I know they look bored out of their minds; they were just following the game.

Jess is explaining a few things.

Tourney over...we took 3rd. When I went to take this pic they were closer together and talking to each other. Silly mom is getting slow.

The high school volleyball season has ended. Nat's freshmen team took 3rd in the district tourney. Jess' JV team took 2nd. It was a season of lots of ups and some downs. We learned a lot about team work, coaches, never quitting, and standing up for each other. Here are the highlights from the end of the season...
Natalie improved a ton! She had a year of c team middle school ball experience, but she worked hard, got in great shape, and started playing a ton during games. She served 5 points one game-in a row. But, our all time favorite moment was during the middle of the season she got to serve in a game. (She had served one time before at the beginning of the season and didn't do too well.) So, we were excited and nervous for her. She gets up to serve...and ACE! Mom and Dad are screaming like crazy people, and then we look at the court and the whole team is off the bench jumping up and down and screaming! It was so fun. :)
Jess shined throughout her season. Her serves got better, her blocking was phenom!, but it was her never ending smile and cheering for her team that won our hearts. She was asked several times to be the cheerleader and to help the coach to keep the spirits up. She worked hard at that this season, and it wasn't always easy. Favorite JV moment: at tournament in the semi finals we played Capital High. They had beat us twice during the season, and here we were again. We beat them by at least 10 pts in the first set, they beat us by about the same in the 2nd, and the 3rd set was on. Our girls during every time out were cheering each other on, and encouraging each other to not let a ball go by. There were a couple of close calls, but in the end, we beat them 17 to 15. Honestly, it was one of those great moments in sports. We went to finals and took 2nd!Great finish!
