Family Camping

It has been 3 years since we made the drive into Utah for the annual 4th of July camping trip. This camping trip has been a Nichols' family tradition for over 50 years! Apparently, they have always camped at the North Fork of the Duchesne River in Utah! Our plan was to go in on Friday, camp with everyone for 2 nights, then head down to the Grandparent's house. We wanted to spend the 4th in downtown Salt Lake, and the 5th at Lagoon...the most wonderful amusement park in Utah. As we were planning what we would need to take and looking at our car, we realized, we would have to take 2 cars. We decided after thinking about the cost of gas for a 5 hour trip, we would just pack clothes, some chairs, and a cooler full of food.
We drove in on Friday night, spent that night at the Grandparents' house, woke up in the morning, got dressed, and headed out to the campsite. We visited with family, held babies, played games, came close in a horse shoe tournament, visitied some more, and ate some delicious food. We left a little boy to sleep out in the campers and headed back to air conditioning, showers, and a bed. We got up the next day and did the same thing except we decided to go horse backriding and shoot guns! Such fun! It was so good to sit down and visit with everyone!
