All of our family has safely made it back home. We miss them so much, but have gotten right into the swing of summer vacation. The temperatures have barely reached 70 degrees, but it hasn't stopped us from having some fun. Of course, I have to post some pics taken from the last couple of days at school.
We got a letter from the middle school inviting us to an awards assembly because our daughter had been chosen to receive an award. YEAH! We were so excited for Jessica. Now, when we get excited, we start thinking of all the fun ways to celebrate this prestigious award! We decided we would make TEAM JESSICA t shirts to wear at the assembly. We're laughing and carrying on at our phenomenal idea. Our daughter does not join in on our festivities and told us she would cry and never speak to us again. To which we said we would get bright glow in the dark shirts for the event and stand up with banners. Anyway, all along we knew we wouldn't do it, we just wanted to tease our girl. We never got the tshirts.
We went to the assembly. As each teacher spoke kind words of the award winners for their class, we sat and wondered "When was our lovely daughter going to be announced for said award?" My friend was video taping each little speech the teachers gave because neither one of us knew which award it would be for either one of our kids! Our plan was that the 3 of us would stand up and do a mini wave when either one of our children were called up. WELL, it turns out both kids got the Presidential Education award (for always being on the honor roll for middle school). Totally exciting, but since soooo many kids got this award, we weren't even allowed to clap until everyone was announced.
